It’s all about the rainfall with Ida.
The Tropical Storm is making landfall this morning, but the rain associated with this system is affecting our area in north central Alabama. We have a flood watch in effect through this afternoon and a wind advisory until 6pm.

“IDA” has brought lots of rain to all of central Alabama. Officially the Montgomery airport as of 10:30 am has had 2.33″ of rain. Gusty winds continue. The official highest wind gust at the airport was 36 MPH at 2:56 am this morning. Winds at the 10:00 hour are still gusting to 30 MPH.

Latest on Ida: The former tropical storm is now an extratropical area of low pressure, and will continue to weaken as it moves inland. The former center of circulation, as of 9:30am, is located over Baldwin County, Alabama, near Robertsdale, AL.
What’s left of Ida will continue to move eastward.

Ida is decreasing rapidly in intensity as it moves northward over e Mobile Bay. Much of the hweaviest rain now in central Alabama is shifting northward . Here is the latest update from the National Hurricane Center.
