Some school systems in southeast Alabama are making the decision to close tomorrow, presumably because of heavy rain and a threat of flooding.  Here’s the list we have thus far:

Ida’s Winds Decrease

Ida is getting closer to the Alabama coast line.  Winds within the hour winds have gusted to 52 mph at Fort Morgan and 55 mph at a spot just west of Foley.  The storm is moving north at a slightly slower forward speed at 13 mph, and now about 100 miles south-southwest of Mobile.  Here [...]
