Expect a few scattered clouds late tonight with temperatures falling into the mid 20s. Rain should stay out of the forecast through Monday. We can enjoy some slightly warmer temperatures for the upcoming weekend.
The forecast next week is still a bit of a challenge. Forecast models (Euro and Canadian) still paint a wet picture with the [...]

After one more hard freeze tonight, we’ll have some tranquil weather to take us right through the weekend along with a slow moderation in temperatures.
Under clear skies temperatures will drop well down into the 20s tonight, likely even colder than it was Wednesday night in most areas due to lighter winds. The next weather system will bring us [...]

Get ready for another cold night tonight. We are headed for the 20’s again. The best news we have involves a pretty decent weekend forecast. It won’t be nearly as warm as last weekend’s pre-spring treat. Instead of mid and upper 60’s, we should see highs in the mid and upper 50’s and it appears [...]

A Ccccc-cold start to this morning. Plenty of sunshine today should warm temps into the upper 40s. Look for warmer temps (highs in the mid 50s) for tomorrow through the weekend and partly cloudy skies.
The forecast becomes a bit more murky going into Monday and Tuesday. A pesky low in the Gulf of Mexico will [...]

The challenge with next week’s potential snowfall forecast comes with the position of the Gulf low. The GFS has performed poorly with the last several Winter systems so most meteorologists are not buying its recent trend of keeping the low farther south in the Gulf. The Canadian GEM and the European ECMWF have performed the [...]

It was a rather interesting morning across central and south Alabama. While most areas saw mostly rainfall, there was a wintry mix at times in parts of central Alabama. In fact, there were even a few bursts of snow at times across the central counties in places like Autauga, Elmore and Tallapoosa counties. Temperatures stayed above [...]

Looks like our big system is ramping back up for snow per the GFS. Per the 06z run, the best chance of snowfall would be Monday night into Tuesday. Here’s an image showing the 850 freezing line and 6hr accumulated precip. Still a ways out – we’ll keep you posted.
