NAM Gets On-Board with Snow
The possible snowfall for Tuesday is looking a bit more favorable as the mesoscale models begin to pick up on the low in the Gulf of Mexico. You can see clearly from the image below moisture is not going to be a problem. It looks like the freezing line at 850mb is around Montgomery. This would imply areas north of Montgomery would receive snowfall. While the models are indicating snowfall, I will tell you this is far from clear-cut. Typically, we see a warm nose creep in as the moisture surges to the north. At this point, I’m confident we’ll see precipitation and likely some snowfall. It’s still too early to say how much snow we’ll receive.
