Deceiving Numbers
It seems that it has been raining cats and dogs every other week. Well in fact, it has! The last thing we need is more rain. However, the numbers are slightly deceiving because it’s the beginning of the year, and the beginning of the a new month.
For the month of February we are in a deficit of “0.53. However, remember it is day 4 and copious amounts of rain is occurring RIGHT NOW across the state! Also, we have a surplus of just 1.72″ for the year. Again, this number is misleading because it’s only February!
Lets go back all the way to December of 2009, factor the numbers together and we have a surplus of 7.19″!! This number gives more of a realistic idea of the problems farmers and flood prone areas have had this fall/winter due to excessive rains. This number does not even include the rain totals from tonight, which could be excessive.
To add insult to injury, more rain is headed our way early next work week.
