Tornado Warning in effect for NW Jackson Co until 6:30pm. At 6:00pm the storm was located 16 miles east of Moores Mill moving northeast at 40 mph. Storm will move near or just south of Sand Mountain.

Update 1 (6:05pm): Reports of damage in the Oakwood Ave area…it appears the storm moved across the Alabama Space and Rocket Center (no damage reported there, as yet) before crossing Memorial Parkway just north of Governor’s Drive. Damage appears to be focused in the 5 Points area.
