Very Wet Night Ahead
Yet another Gulf of Mexico low pressure storm system will spread a shield of rain up into the area this evening, with locally heavy rain expected in the overnight hours for much of central and south Alabama. Rainfall amounts could exceed 2″ in some spots before the rain finally ends and moves away tomorrow afternoon. A flash flood watch is in effect for much of central and south Alabama. Cooler weather will follow as the clouds hang in across the area Friday night into Saturday, with lows in the middle 30’s and highs barely up to about 50 on Saturday afternoon.
The next major storm system could show up as early as next Wednesday evening lasting into Christmas Eve.
