Record Rainfall Across the Tennessee Valley…

A powerful and vigorous storm system brough heavy snow to the plains and heavy rain and severe weather to the Tennessee Valley.  The big tornado threat remained just to our south.  But we were soaked with several inches of rainfall.  There is a report of 6.5 inches of rain falling at the Hartselle airport and 5.94 inches south of Mtn. Gap Road and Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, AL.  Officially at the Huntsville International Airport, 3.79 inches of rain was reported.  This broke the record rainfall total from yesterday of 2.35 inches.  That record was 85 years old set back in 1924.  At least we’ll have a few dry days before more rain moves in.

Here are pictures of some flooding near McMullen Road and Old Highway 431 near Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
