Overnight Severe Threat
Posted on December 8th, 2009 by James-Paul Dice
The tornado watch now includes our eastern counties until 6am. There is still plenty of instability across the region with temperatures in the lower 70s and dewpoints in the mid 60s. At 11pm – Birmingham and Tuscaloosa reported temps at 70. Jackson, MS was at 73. Incredible for December. The wind shear should turn more unidirectional during the overnight hours – this would make for more straight line wind damage and few tornadic storms. Jason Kelley and I will continue to update you at the top and bottom of the hour through the overnight.

I live on top of the Alabama City end of Noccalula Mtn., and from my living room window I could see green lightning over parts of Gadsden. Very strange!
