We might hit 60 in North Alabama Tuesday but it might not be until Ten O’clock at night.

After a cold day Sunday the weather on Monday wasn’t much better.  Spotty showers will continue this evening with a break in the wet conditions late tonight.  Early Tuesday morning more rain will develop and track in our direction.  Temperatures will hold steady and in the middle to lower 40s before slowly rising throughout the day on Tuesday.  It looks like afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 50s and our high of 60 degrees may not be reached until late Tuesday evening.  Strong southerly winds will develop ahead of a powerful storm that will track to the north of the Heart of the Valley late tomorrow night into Wednesday.  Ahead of a cold front showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous after sunset Tuesday.  The greatest threat (In North Alabama) appears to be wind gusts to 50mph with some of the stronger storms with heavy rain.  Outside of the storms we could even see some winds sustained at 20 to 30 mph due to the strength of the overall storm system.  Stay tuned to WAFF for the latest regarding our active weather pattern.  You can always get the latest WAFF Live Doppler Radar image at www.waff.com.
