Forecast Changes…Some Rain in our Future

I hope you didn’t bite too hard on the chance for wintry weather next Monday.  As I indicated, this was something the models were hinting at.  It looks like the GFS is backing off on the chance for Winter weather or even bitter cold weather next week.  One thing is for sure – we can expect some rain and probably even a few thunderstorms with Monday’s front.  If you’re wondering about snowfall – that’s generally going to be in the Midwest and Ohio Valley….although some portions of East Tennessee could get some measurable snowfall next week.

What about the short-term forecast?  A reinforcing shot of cool air will settle into the state tonight and will make for a sunny, but cool Thanksgiving.  If you’re heading to Auburn for the Iron Bowl – rain will not be a problem.  It’s going to be sunny with highs in the lower to mid 50s.  Expect a very pleasant weekend as well with a slight warm up.

Included in this post are graphics for tomorrow’s forecast as well as next Monday’s GFS plot.
