For those with weekend plans, it still looks like rain is in the forecast thanks to a low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico.  The low will spread rain in the state by Saturday afternoon.  But, it looks like the bulk of the rain for Central Alabama will be Saturday night through Sunday.  The heaviest rain will remain south of Birmingham.  Fortunately, there is very little instability so this is going to be just a rain event.  For those planning to head to Tuscaloosa Saturday for the Alabama game, some rain gear may be in order for the afternoon just in case.  However, I’m thinking most of the game should be dry.  Expect clouds to linger both Saturday and Sunday even in rainfree areas.  Take a look the a few screen grabs from our 15km VIPIR computer model.
