Saturday and Sunday Sunshine
Nothing can beat a dry, sunny weekend in the Southern fall, and that is exactly what we can look forward to this first weekend in November. Cool mornings in the 40s will warm steadily into the 70s for afternoon highs, with a slight day-to-day warming trend.
Complications arise early next week, as a disturbance in the western Gulf and whatever is left of Tropical Storm Ida will combine to send loads of moisture in our direction, leading to rain. At this point it looks like clouds will start moving in on Monday, with rain to follow. Tuesday is the prime target day for rain in Georgia, though it could get into parts of Alabama a bit sooner. The effects of strong high pressure to our north and low pressure in the Gulf will allow for brisk easterly winds to develop as the weather turns wet, making for an unpleasant start to the week.
Because of Ida’s tropical origins it will be difficult to predict the endgame of this system next week, but right now it looks like the rain won’t hang around for long and clearing will quickly follow as the low heads east across the Florida peninsula and eventually into the Atlantic.
Enjoy what should be a terrific weekend!
